Lighthouse Works and the Fishers Island Library invite you to an evening with Eric Puchner, author of the novel Dream State — an Oprah pick and New York Times bestseller — on Saturday, April 4, 5PM at the Fishers Island Library.

Puchner will read from his work and join author and Library board member Anna Noyes for a conversation about storytelling, fiction, and the novel's themes.

This program is presented as part of the Harry S. Parker III Visiting Artist Program, which brings distinguished writers and artists to Fishers Island to engage with Lighthouse Works Fellows and the island community.

Free and open to all, drinks and light snacks will be served.

Bio

Eric Puchner is the author of the novel Dream State, which was an Oprah pick and a New York Times bestseller, and was named a best book of 2025 by The Guardian, London Times, BBC, Lit Hub, New York Post, and others. His other books include the novel Model Home, a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award, and the story collections Last Day on Earth and Music Through the Floor. His stories and personal essays have appeared in GQ, Granta, McSweeney’s, The Best American Short Stories, and elsewhere. He has received an Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. An associate professor in the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University, he lives in Baltimore with his wife, the novelist Katharine Noel, and their two children.
